Eligibility Criteria

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the apprenticeship training is based strictly on merit calculated from academic performance. There will be no written examination or viva. It is therefore crucial for applicants to have their educational documents and marks correctly entered in the application. The process is as follows:
- Merit List Preparation: Selection will be based on a merit list prepared for each Division/Unit. The list will be compiled by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both. In case of a tie, the candidate with the older age will be given preference. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates, based on their position in the merit list, will be called for the verification of their original documents to confirm their eligibility.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must satisfy the minimum standards of medical fitness as prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961, and relevant rules.
