GRSE Eligibility 2025
The eligibility criteria vary for each post. Key common parameters are:
1. Educational Qualification:
- For Technical Posts: Four-year full-time BE/B.Tech in relevant disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Marine, Civil, Production, Naval Architecture, etc.).
- For Medical Posts: MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission.
- For Finance Posts: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA).
- For Company Secretary: Associate/Fellow Member of ICSI.
- For HR/Admin/Safety: Relevant full-time MBA/PG Degree/Diploma.
- For Junior Manager (E-0): Full-time Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. (Shipbuilding & Repair) in relevant discipline.

2. Age Limit (as on 01.12.2025):
- Varies from post to post. Maximum age limit ranges from 28 years for Assistant Manager (E-1) to 56 years for Executive Director (E-9).
- Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen and internal candidates as per Government/GRSE rules.
3. Experience (as on 01.12.2025):
- For E-9 to E-2 posts: Ranges from 5 years to 26 years of post-qualification experience in relevant fields (Shipbuilding, Design, Project Management, Finance, Legal, etc.).
- For Assistant Manager (E-1) posts: No experience required (Freshers can apply).
- For Junior Manager (E-0) posts: 8 years of post-qualification experience required.
- Candidates from Govt./PSUs must have 2 years of experience in the immediate lower grade. Private sector candidates must have comparable CTC for the last 2 years.
GRSE Selection Process 2025
The selection methodology differs based on the grade of the post.
For Posts E-9 (ED) to E-2 (Deputy Manager): Selection will be based only on Interview.
For Assistant Manager (E-1) Posts:
Stage-I: Written Test (Tentatively in Feb/Mar 2026).
- Pattern: 85 Objective Questions (60 Discipline-specific + 25 General Management Aptitude). Total Marks: 85. Duration: 90 minutes.
Stage-II: Interview (15 Marks).
Candidates must qualify separately in both stages. Final merit will be based on total marks (Written Test + Interview).
For Assistant Manager (Safety), proficiency in Bengali will also be evaluated.
For Junior Manager (E-0) Posts: Selection will be based only on Interview.
